Rugby Community Champions

Garden Organic will be working in partnership with Rugby Borough Council to increase biodiversity in the town, through engaging local people in organic gardening, whether that be in a community garden, allotment or their own growing spaces.

About the Project 🔗

The project will provide support to volunteer Community Champions, who will offer training and advice to residents around growing their own food, composting, preventing waste and using natural methods to promote healthy, productive and sustainable gardens and green spaces.

Garden Organic, Rugby Borough Council and the Community Champions will work together to nurture land, inspire growing and greenspace activities, embed sustainability in gardening practices, and impact positively on biodiversity.

How to take part 🔗

As part of the project, we are looking for ‘Community Champions’ who will become points of contact and advice for their local communities, delivering training and providing support.

We will provide training and support for the ‘Community Champions’, as they encourage more people to engaging with growing.

The intention is to connect local people with green spaces in the borough. We would love more people to have knowledge and skills, and feel inspired, to grow their own food, help biodiversity and prevent waste.

Would you like to help your local community connect to green spaces? Get in touch to find out how!
