Tomato
Sweet Brooksby
Indeterminate. Cordon. Donated by Rob Croft who acquired the seeds from someone whose brother had bred “a stable, sweet tomato” in 1962 at Brooksby Agricultural College, Leicestershire. It had been grown by family and friends since this time and is now grown, once more, by Seed Guardians at Brooksby College. The tomatoes are red and marble-sized with an exceptionally sweet flavour. Guardians on the Melton Community Allotment found it made delicious soup and pasta sauce, as well as impressing visitors to the allotment who tried it.
