Riesentraube

Determinate. Bush. Author William Woys Weaver rediscovered this extraordinary old German variety and uncovered its history. The name translates as 'huge grapes', but in Hungary it has a more risqué name alluding to the nipple shape at the base of the fruit, and is used exclusively for making wine! It's high yielding, producing a generous harvest of red fruits the size of a large cherry that have a delicious, tangy flavour.
