Pea
Fairbeards Non Pariel
Syn. Admiral. 'Non Pareil' from the French meaning unrivalled. This variety was bred by William Fairbeard, probably around 1840. It's derived from Champion of England which was also, until reintroduced for commercial sale, held in the HSL collection. This early, wrinkle-seeded variety grows to around 1.8m in height and produces white flowers followed by slender, light green pods, with 6-8 sweet-flavoured peas in each.
