Loos Tennis Ball
(syn. Gotte de Loos) Tennis ball lettuces are classic, loose, cabbage-headed varieties with a long history. This variety was first introduced by DT Brown in 1932. Mildew tolerant, so ideal for glasshouses and frames with little need for ventilation. Best for autumn sowing as it runs to seed quickly if spring sown. Seed Guardian Mike Wicken says: "Excellent for overwintering. Good eating quality. Flavour remains for a long time before going bitter."
