Money raised will support us with the progression of our For Peat's Sake campaign for 2022.
Peat bogs are the most efficient land-based store of carbon. The extraction process releases huge amounts of stored carbon which, according to the RSPB, means these bogs currently emit more greenhouse gases than all the HGV’s on the UK roads. But still, there remains a vast array of peat-filled products lining the shelves of our shops and garden centres today!
In 2022 we want to spearhead a national campaign and address this issue on a much wider scale, to demand that peat is no longer used or sold within the horticultural industry and to show how everyone can become peat free without sacrificing the quality of their growing.
This is why we have launched our Christmas appeal to raise essential funds to support this campaigning work. Help us raise essential funds by making a donation of just £20, or more, which will support us in our battle to remove peat from horticulture!
