Diversity and inclusion at Garden Organic
Like many organisations, the Black Lives Matter movement and events of recent weeks have made us reflect on our approach at Garden Organic and ask tough questions of ourselves.
In the past few days we have had conversations at Executive and Board level to discuss diversity and inclusion within Garden Organic, the charitable sector and the horticultural industry, and the role we can play to instigate change.
We’re proud of our inclusive culture at Garden Organic but we acknowledge that there’s always more that can be done.
As a first step, we are signing up to Acevo’s ‘Eight principles to address the diversity deficit in charity leadership’. From this we are now working on a plan that we can implement to make improvements within our organisation and influence change within our sector. We will share this plan as soon as we’re in a position to do so.
