Join us to hear how you can transform your containers and small spaces into a thriving organic oasis. This course is led by balcony and container-growing expert, Chris Collins. Living in a flat in London, Chris is a pro in making the most of small spaces and containers, creating beautiful displays of pollinator-friendly flowers, and cultivating his own organic food in abundance.

During the three-hour session, Chris will be sharing his passion and know-how to equip you with everything you need to put into practice in your own growing space.

What you can look forward to...
•    Learn how to make the most of small spaces for organic growing.
•    Guidance on the best plants and veg to grow in a small space.
•    Discover Chris’s top ten tips for maintaining healthy plants organically.
•    Demonstrations & practical take-home activity.
•    See the principles of organic growing in action during our organic garden tour
•    Pick Chris’s brains on your specific challenges during a Q&A and informal chat in the garden

Demonstrations & practical take-home activity
During the first half of the session, Chris will demonstrate how to create your own organic, peat-free, edible hanging basket or container using a few simple resources. You’ll then be able to put this into practice as Chris guides you through the steps to make your own fabulous organic salad bar! We'll provide you with everything you need to make and sow your own compact, peat-free salad container to take home and enjoy for months to come. We’ll be sowing salad, rocket, spinach and micro-crop seeds.

Tour of our beautiful organic garden
Enjoy a tour around our inspirational organic garden, led by Head Gardener Emma O'Neill. Emma will guide you through the different aspects of the garden to demonstrate and reveal the organic principles we use such as companion planting, crop rotation, soil management, composting, pest and disease management, and seasonal activities. The tour will include our container garden area, to give you ideas of what you could achieve in your own growing area.

Q&A with Chris, Emma, and the Garden Team
The Masterclass will end with plenty of time to chat with Chris, Emma, and the Garden Team at Garden Organic, to ask your organic growing questions and find out how to address any challenges you have. Between them, the team has a wide range of expertise on all aspects of organic growing, from propagation and planting to soil care and composting. This will be a rare opportunity to talk with these experts so make sure you take plenty of time to pick their brains!
